Yesterday, Evan Mallory verbally committed to play for the University of Cincinnati. Mallory is big. Real big. He is 6’5″ tall and weighs in around 312 lbs., depending on what he had for breakfast that morning. He plays OL for Brownsburg High School (a former high school rival of this author). Brownsburg is a western suburb of Indianapolis. Mallory chose UC over a long list of schools that included Purdue, Illinois, Indiana, USF, and Louisville.
Mallory adds a much needed physical presence to the 2015 recruiting class, which is long on speed and athleticism and a bit short on size. Mallory announced that he would make his decision at 2 PM yesterday, and indicated that he’d be choosing between UC and Louisville. He then began following UC people on twitter, which tipped his hand a bit…
Yesterday afternoon, Mallory broadcast his decision to play in Clifton, much to the chagrin of Louisville fans nationwide. Tuberville and company obviously made Mallory a priority and I look forward to seeing him rough up defenders under the lights of Nippert.
