UC will enter the game with the Miami Redhawks this weekend playing without freshman cornerback Alex Thomas. Thomas was suspended for at least four games for his involvement in a weekend incident near campus. Thomas is accused of obstruction of justice after he ran from police officers, despite their commands to stop. Three other Bearcats were cited for misdemeanors, including Ey’Shawn McClain (backup linebacker), Leviticus Payne (starting nickelback) and Hosey Williams (starting running back). Thomas was the only player suspended, while the others were disciplined and remain active for Saturday’s game.
According to the police report, Thomas (from Hollywood, Florida originally) was apprehended after a foot chase. After I read that, it made me wonder which police officer was quick enough to catch him? And, whether he has any eligibility left…
