Round Them Up: Bearcats Take the Offensive and Special Teams

After their dramatic victory over ECU, the Bearcats are the belle of the AAC ball…

AAC Offensive Player of the Week: Sophomore QB Gunner Kiel gets the nod here.  Gunner played every UC offensive down in the win over ECU, going 29/44 for a career-high 436 yards and four TDs.  He connected on passes of 55, 17, 66 and 36 yards for touchdowns. He also led the Cats down the field with one minute left in the game for the winning field goal opportunity.

Kiel leads the American with 24 TDs, while he ranks second in the conference in passing yards at 276.1 yards per game.  On the season, Kiel is 168/279 (60.2%) for 2485 yards, and he still has three games to go!

AAC Special Teams Player of the Week:  This award AGAIN goes to freshman kicker Andrew Gantz.  Mr. Gantz scored 12 points, including two field goals and going 6-for-6 on PATs to secure the win over ECU.  Gantz scored the game-winning 47-yard field goal with 15 seconds left.

He has made his last 10 attempts, and ranks second in scoring (8.2 points per game) in the AAC.
