Bearcats Own Wolfpack On The Road, 76-60

Ellis BlockFreshman Gary Clark had 200 people at his coming home party today, and the game couldn’t have gone any better for UC. The Cats took down the 10-3 Wolfpack, leading 41-26 at the half, and closing the game, 76-60. This was the third consecutive game without Mick Cronin, but his right-hand-man Larry Davis did an excellent job coaching up the team.

Coming into the game the Cats D ranked 9th in points allowed, 24th in opponent field goal percentage, and 11th in blocks. The defense continued to assert itself, and UC made tons of buckets today. UC held the leading ACC scorer #1 Trevor Lacy to 6 points. He made just one field goal in garbage time.

Man-child Coreontae DeBerry stepped up today and had the best game of his career as a Bearcat, going 4-6 with 9 points and 4 rebounds. Elis had 11 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals,, and 1 block. Thomas led the offense with 15 points. The offense shot the ball from the field at 52%, and made 17-25 free throws.
