Tomorrow evening at 7 pm ET on ESPNU the 10-3 Bearcats will face the 7-8 East Carolina Pirates at Fifth Third Arena. ECU is off to an 0-2 start in the AAC, and on paper does not present a very big threat to the 1-0 Cats. ECU was picked 10th in the American preseason poll.
Today Coach Davis spoke about the dangers of the ECU offense, and how they live and die by the three-ball. The Pirates feature some of the AAC’s top scorers, including freshman guard #21 B.J. Tyson (10th at 13.3 points), sophomore forward #2 Caleb White (12th at 13.1 points) and junior guard #0 Terry Whisnant (13th at 12.9 points). White and Whisnant rank 5th and 6th in the American in three-pointers, both making two per game.
Cincinnati has won three is a row, and the Cats are clicking very well on both ends of the floor. I am excited to continue to see Cobb and DeBerry continue to grow and contribute valuable offense and defense off the bench. UC ranks 9th in the country in scoring defense, holding opponents to under 55 points per game.
The Bearcats are 7-0 all-time against the Pirates, and this should make it 8-0.
Prediction: UC wins handily, 65-50. More here.
As part of a holiday special, lower-level tickets for the contest are on sale for just $15. So if you’re looking for something to do tomorrow night…

Now that Wiziwig is offline, my go-to source for live UC basketball action is the BCSR twitter page featuring live play-by-play tweets of the action right after the action happens. But that’s just a warmup Jack. BCSR is the only site on the web that Tweetcaps those same tweets the next day, right here on bearcrapsportsradio.com, for yours truly, Tommy Creanjeans. Coachella just announced its 2015 lineup. Bubby says he’s boycotting because Coachella didn’t line up his new band, Lil’ Meech Tic. Will the owner of this website please contact me? I would like to see if you will start covering Xavier University athletics on this website.
