Here Come the Huskies of UCONN – Thursday Preview

This Thursday night at 8 pm ET the Cats rematch UConn at Fifth Third Arena.  The game will be nationally televised on ESPN2, and I am sure the masses will show up for this important conference battle.  Come early, be loud, and wear white!

For a full breakdown of the UConn Huskies be sure to check out our article earlier this season.

Since the Cats last traveled to Hartford, Connecticut and blew a halftime lead against the Huskies, UC has gone 3-1 with wins over Temple, Houston, and UCF, and a loss on the road at Memphis.  The Bearcats have continued to grow on offense averaging 67.5 points per game during this 4-game stretch, and play the same old-fashioned Cronin lock-down defense, leading the AAC in numerous defensive categories.

During the same time, UConn has gone 2-2 with wins over UCF and USF and losses to Stanford and Tulsa.  Senior guard Ryan Boatright is as dangerous as ever, coming off of a career-high 28 point game.

This is a very important game for the two schools, and a battle to maintain 3rd place in the American.

We fully anticipate this game to be a nail-biter.  The Cats are sure to have a chip on their shoulders after losing at UConn.  The advantage of playing at Fifth Third Arena coupled with the recent flow of the Bearcat offense should tilt this game in favor of the Cats.  This is a must win for both schools to stay in the AAC race.

Prediction: UC wins 60-57 in a rock fight.  More here.
