UC’s Ian Happ Named AAC Player of the Year

UC Bearcats baseball player Ian Happ has been named the AAC Player of the Year, as well as a unanimous pick to the All-AAC First Team. No other UC baseball player has received this award since MLB player Josh Harrison was named the Big East Player of the Year in 2008.

Happ ended the season leading the conference in batting average (.366), slugging percentage (.681), on-base percentage (.490), total bases (130) and walks (47). He also racked up 45 runs scored, 70 hits, 43 RBIs, 18 doubles, and 14 homeruns.

Happ is in the running for the Golden Spikes Award. He was named Capital One Academic All-District, and is a candidate for Academic All-America honors.
