UC’s Ian Happ is a Cub and a Very Rich Man

Former Bearcat baseball outfielder, Ian Happ, was picked 9th overall in the MLB draft by the Chicago Cubs.  He has now inked his name on a contract, including a bonus of $3,000,000.00.   Not too bad for the former UC standout.

At 6 foot and 205 lbs., Happ batted .338 (194-for-574) with 120 runs, 44 doubles, 2 triples, 25 home runs, and 107 RBIs in 3 seasons in Clifton.

There’s some debate on whether Happ will eventually play in the outfield grass or on the infield dirt.  Regardless, his future at bat looks bright.
