Remember Ge’Lawn Guyn?

Guyn spent four years with the Cincinnati Bearcats. Listed as a point guard, he was known for his tenacious defense, likely the best defender on the team. With a lingering finger injury he sat out almost his whole senior year and decided to transfer to East Tennessee State and immediately play one final season as a Buccaneer under the graduate-transfer rule.

Most of the time, when division 1 players transfer down, we lose track of them and do not hear from them. Things don’t always work out how players would like them to, unfortunately. For Guyn, however, things have definitely worked out.

East Tennessee State is just about to secure a bid to the NCAA Tournament. Guyn is leading the Bucs in scoring and is 2nd in the conference in points scored. He has 16 games of 20 points or more! Here are Guyn’s stats this season:

Games: 33
Minutes: 32 per game
Points: 18 points
Field Goals: 43%
3 Pointers: 42%
Free Throws: 75%
3.7 rebounds
54 assists
33 steals

Congrats to Mr. Guyn! We only wish we could have produced these same results this season here in Clifton.
