Bearcats Dismantle Falcons, 85-56; Butler Next

Inside Fifth Third Arena Sunday night, the Bowling Green State University Falcons looked like a deep threat during pregame warmups. They counted made 3’s, as is their tradition, and made well into double digits in a row. Then came tipoff and the Bearcats kept the Falcons in a no-fly zone.

The mighty Bowling Green Falcons made it a close game until halfway through the first half, when UC’s superior talent and athletic ability asserted itself. 41-24 at half, the Cats continued their winning ways.

Kyle Washington dominated (again). Alleyoop, dunk, block, baseline, jump shot – you name it, he put on a clinic. He went 11-13 for 24 points, 6 boards, and 3 blocks. Justin Jenifer had a great 21st birthday, nailing a three to end the first half and scoring 14 for the game. Senior walk-on Zach Tobler even hit a 3 as the crowd erupted in the waning seconds.

Next up 7-1 UC travels to legendary Hinkle Fieldhouse to play Butler on Saturday at 4:30 pm. We’ll be there and you should be, too.
